What are wristbands for?

One of the most overlooked items on most event planning checklists is wristbands. It makes sense—on a huge laundry list of things to order, plan for, and organize, wristbands are probably an afterthought. After all, what are wristbands for, really? This article will discuss some of the most important and overlooked uses for wristbands.

Event and Attraction Wristbands

Admissions and Security

It is important to keep track of attendees at your events. You receive a wristband as soon as you enter to verify that you are a person who is supposed to be there. This makes it easy to quickly detect intruders because they aren’t wearing a wristband (or a wristband that is different from yours). It also ensures that you are not being exploited and losing money due to trespassers.

Age and Status Verification

Depending on the type of event you are hosting, you may need to verify the age of your attendees, especially if alcohol is being served. Wristbands are the easiest way to do this, even easier than looking at a driver’s license. In fact, rather than having to check an ID between every purchase, you can pre-verify the age of your attendees and assign specific wristbands depending on if they are age 21 or older.

What about events where there are additional perks and experiences that can be paid for? If that is the case, we recommend VIP wristbands to help you verify the guests who have purchased the event package that includes extra perks.

Convenience

If someone were to ask you, “what are wristbands for?”, convenience probably wouldn’t be your first thought. However, you can indeed add value to any event or attraction by creating a convenient experience. How you ask? Through tabbed wristbands. These vinyl wristbands are highly durable and can be used to purchase drinks, enter raffles, and play games. You can also control how much your guests drink. When guests purchase a drink ticket wristband, they need not pull out their wallet every time they want an alcoholic beverage. Instead, they simply pull off one of their tabs and present it at the bar. That said, when their tabs are all redeemed, they cannot drink anymore. This limits the number of problems you will have to deal with as a result of unruly guests.

Silicone Wristbands

Fundraising

Silicone wristbands are often used as a fundraising tool for charities and nonprofits. Though inexpensive to design and purchase in bulk, organizations can sell them at a huge margin. For those supporting the cause, buying a wristband is an inexpensive way to show your support.

Growing Awareness

It is easy to grow awareness for your cause if your supporters wear your fundraising merchandise on their wrists. Unlike t-shirts and other fundraising items, wristbands don’t need to be taken off and washed. In fact, they are highly durable and can be kept on the wrist indefinitely. In fact, silicone wristbands are very comfortable and those wearing them often forget that they are.

Getting Started

Now that we have answered the original question of “what are wristbands for?”, we can discuss how you can create the perfect wristband for your event, fundraiser, or attraction. First things first, you must decide which material is right for you. We offer five materials to choose from: cloth, plastic, vinyl, silicone, and Tyvek. Once you decide on a material, click View Custom by hovering your cursor over the image. From there, select a style as needed and click Customize Now.

You are now in our custom wristband configurator. First, you will want to select a preview color for your wristband. Note that this is simply to help you visualize your design. Final colors and quantities will be selected in a later step. You will also want to select your imprint color for the text.

Next, click ‘Next Step’. Here you will write your text and select your font and font size. Be sure to proofread what you have written. Our machines are not sentient and can only imprint what is given to them.

Click ‘Next Step’ again. Now, we will add some graphics. You can add your logo and graphics if you please. Otherwise, we have a library of clipart you can choose from. To begin, click ‘Add Graphic’. Then select ‘Change’ under the box that reads No Logo. From here, you can upload an image from your device, or use one of ours—your choice!

Lastly, click ‘Next Step’ one more time. Select the box that reads I approve this design if you are ready to move forward. From there, you will select the band colors you would like to order. Simple!
