QR Code Wristband Materials
Tyvek®
Tyvek® is a synthetic paper-like material that is tear-resistant and waterproof, making them perfect for a variety of events. Tyvek® QR code wristbands offer a cost-effective way to supply guests with additional information about your event and the ability to make transactions digitally. We recommend these wristbands for short-term use.
Plastic or Vinyl
If you require greater durability, we recommend either plastic or vinyl QR code wristbands. Each type of wristband features a secure locking snap that ensures that admission to your event is not being transferred or resold after use. If fact, to remove the wristband, one must (safely) cut it with scissors. Plastic wristbands are great for events lasting up to a week. Vinyl wristbands, on the other hand, can be used up to two weeks and feature a 3-layer construction which makes them super comfortable to wear.
Silicone
Silicone QR code wristbands are different from Tyvek®, plastic, and vinyl wristbands because they are reusable. While some events choose to use them as an admission wristband, they can also be used as a marketing tool since they are a fashion item. Many of our customers choose to add a QR code to their bracelets so that their wearers can quickly access their website, or a different web module. For example, a popular athletic brand might freely distribute silicone bracelets to their customers, who can scan a QR code to go to an ecommerce website where they can purchase new apparel and equipment.

Both options are available. A single static QR code can be printed on all wristbands to direct everyone to the same destination, such as an event schedule or feedback form. Alternatively, serialized QR codes can be generated so that each wristband carries a unique code linked to an individual attendee’s profile or access level.
Barcodes store numeric or alphanumeric data and are read by standard barcode scanners, making them a cost-effective option for basic admission tracking. QR codes store far more information, including full URLs, and can be scanned by most smartphones without a dedicated device. For events that want digital engagement beyond entry, QR codes are the more versatile choice.
Absolutely. Silicone QR code bracelets work well for brands because they can link customers to a product page, website, or promotional content with a quick scan. Businesses distribute them as giveaways or include them in packaging so that wearers can access relevant content anytime without typing in a URL.
Tyvek QR code wristbands are water-resistant and tear-resistant, keeping the printed code legible throughout a short-term event. When produced with high-contrast ink, the codes remain scannable in most lighting conditions. For outdoor or longer events, vinyl or plastic offer greater resistance to moisture and wear.
QR code wristbands come in Tyvek, plastic, vinyl, and silicone. Tyvek is the most affordable and suited to short-term events. Plastic and vinyl offer greater durability for multi-day use. Silicone QR code wristbands are reusable and often used as branded marketing accessories rather than single-use admission bands.
Yes, QR code wristbands can function as non-transferable digital tickets. Each band can carry a unique QR code tied to individual attendee data, allowing staff to scan for entry, verify access levels, or confirm drink or meal inclusions. This speeds up entry lines and significantly reduces the risk of counterfeit tickets.
QR code wristbands link wearers to a digital destination, such as a website, event schedule, donation page, or social media profile, by scanning with a smartphone. They’re used at events for ticketing and access control, in healthcare for patient identification, and by brands as a wearable marketing tool connecting physical and digital experiences.
QR code wristbands give attendees on-demand access to digital content without staff assistance. Common uses include check-in and ticket validation, cashless food and drink ordering, access to event schedules, real-time attendance tracking, donation pages, and redirecting guests to social media or survey pages after the event.
A QR code wristband can link to any URL or text string, including event ticket details, digital menus, cashless payment pages, waiver forms, social media profiles, donation pages, and attendee check-in portals. QR codes hold significantly more data than standard barcodes.
Yes. Any modern smartphone with a built-in camera app can scan a QR code wristband without downloading a separate app. This makes QR code wristbands more accessible than RFID wristbands, which require dedicated hardware readers at entry points.
QR code wristbands store significantly more data and can be scanned by any smartphone camera, making them ideal for linking to websites, menus, or digital passes. Barcode wristbands store a simple numeric string and require a handheld scanner, making them better suited for fast, high-volume entry checks.
