What are wristbands made of? We offer wristbands in a variety of materials including Tyvek®, plastic, vinyl, silicone, cloth, and direct thermal. We also offer cloth lanyards as well.

Are wristbands waterproof? Wristbands made from Tyvek® and direct thermal are water-resistant; wristbands made from plastic, vinyl, silicone, and cloth, as well as our cloth lanyards, are waterproof.

How do you take a wristband off? One-time-use wristbands made from Tyvek®, plastic, vinyl, cloth (with locking bead), and direct thermal are best removed by cutting with a scissors. Multi-use wristbands made from silicone and cloth (with adjustable bead) can be removed by sliding the bracelet down the wrist and off the hand.

What are festival wristbands made out of? Festival wristbands are traditionally made from the secure, one-time-use material known as Tyvek®. Plastic, vinyl, and cloth are popular styles as well, predominantly amongst festivals lasting several days in duration (like Summerfest, SXSW, or Coachella). Direct thermal bands also prove worthy solutions, especially when variable data is required to differentiate and/or qualify festival-goers. The only material we don’t recommend if the wristband is being used solely for admissions/security is silicone because it can removed and reworn. However, silicone bracelets are often gifted to festival-goers as keepsakes or souvenirs.

Are Festival wristbands waterproof? / Are concert wristbands waterproof? Festival and concert wristbands made from DuPont™ Tyvek® and direct thermal are lightweight, durable, and water-resistant; those made from plastic, vinyl, and cloth are ultra-strong, long-lasting, and waterproof. Silicone bracelets used as musical event mementos or gifts are also waterproof. And while not technically a wristband, lanyards are heavily employed at festivals and concerts amongst staff and volunteers to hold badges and credentials. Made from the same fabric as cloth wristbands, our lanyards are sturdy, resilient, and waterproof as well.

How do you remove a festival wristband? Festival wristbands made from Tyvek®, plastic, vinyl, cloth (with a locking closure), and direct thermal are most easily removed by snipping with a scissors. Cloth (with adjustable bead) and silicone wristbands can be taken off simply by sliding the bracelet down the wrist and off the hand.
